Welcome

Have a seat. Make yourself at home. Why not have a browse around?

Hopefully this website will give you a good idea of what to expect when you visit CBC and answer any questions you might have. If you find we haven’t, then head over to the contact page and send us an email.

Until then, we’ll tell you a bit about ourselves.

What’s all this then?

Carlow Bible Church, or CBC as it’s affectionately known, is a non-denominational church located in a quiet business area of Carlow town in the sunny south-east of Ireland. We are ordinary people from many different walks of life who share a passion for God. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, which is not only the ultimate guide to living the way God intends, but also completely relevant to today’s modern society and culture. All of our teaching is Biblically based.

Our mission is to share the love of Jesus in a practical way to every person, and to lead people to become fully devoted followers of God.

What it’s like

We aim to make your experience at CBC as relaxed as possible. No strict rules and regulations. Just a comfortable atmosphere within which you can focus all your attention on God, and not worry about everyone else around you.

As for a dress code, there is no such thing. God’s concerned with our hearts, so why should we be worried about what you wear? The guys usually wear jeans and tshirts, or ocassionally a collar shirt without the tie. Ladies wear jeans or skirts with tshirts or blouses. If the weather is hot, we wear shorts and flip flops. If it’s cold, we wear hoodies. So wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.

Sunday begins with the communion Service. We feel that communion is an important part of a Christian’s life, and should not be taken lightly. The singing is led by a talented musical team, with a mix of modern and traditional songs. During this time, announcements are made and a collection is taken from those who feel led to give. This is followed with Bible-based teaching, which is usually recorded. After the service we encourage you to stay around for tea, coffee and biscuits. This is a time when we can get to know you better.

When and Where

We meet every Sunday in the CBC building for communion, singing and teaching. The communion service begins promptly at 10.45am and runs for half an hour. We ask that you be on time for this service in particular, as the time of personal reflection is very important. The main service, comprising singing and Biblical teaching, begins at 11.30am and runs for about an hour.

The church is located in Unit 5a Barrowside Retail Park, just off the Sleaty Road in Graiguecullen. Click here for a map and directions. There is limited parking on site plus some on the road, so advice is to get there well in advance of the services.

For the children

Children are very important to us, for they are the future of the church. Our children’s ministry is called SPLAT, Students Proclaiming the Lord’s Awesome Truth, and is divided into three age groups; preschoolers, 6 to 9 years old and 10 to 13 years old. Children stay in for the music at the start of the service and then go out to get their own teaching aimed at their age group.

We also have a creche facility for those who are too young for SPLAT. It is located in a seperate room, but does have a feed in from the main room so that you don’t miss out.
