Christianity Explored

Founded by Rico Tice in 1995 and developed over 10 years, Christianity Explored is an informal course for people who’d like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. It explores who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him.

We run the course in the church twice a year. Each course is five weeks long as we do two modules in an evening. Check the events calendar to see when the next course will be on, and contact us if you’re interested in coming.

Hospitality

Hospitality is the name we’ve given to those activities that happen every Sunday morning to make you feel a little more at home. Things such as being greeted at the door and being served cups of tea and coffee are all part of our Hospitality ministry.

Music

Having live music played every week when we worship doesn’t just happen. It takes a lot of forethought and practicing. Oh, and a talented bunch of musicians! Under very capable leadership, our band is made up of many different musical instruments and singers. We encourage younger people to join in and use their talents for God.

Pastoral Care

CBC has always had an emphasis on caring. However, as the church grew the same level of care proved difficult to maintain, with the risk of new members being left out. As a result we have established a dedicated Pastoral Care Team to ensure that everyone will experience the same level of care that the church has been accustomed to.

The aim of the Pastoral Care Team is to help the church fulfill its duty of care as God designed for His people.

Therefore, the care provided includes for spiritual, social, physical, emotional and practical needs. In order to be effective in this the team will be proactive in its approach rather than simply responding to those in need of help or counselling.

Prayer

We believe prayer is the heartbeat of the church and is an important part of everyday life and living. For that reason we try to meet as often as we can to pray for various needs as they arise. Our main prayer meeting is on the first Sunday of every month after lunch, in the church building.

Small Groups

One of the ways to stimulate the growth of community is through small groups. These groups meet in various
homes or in the church building. Everyone is encouraged to become part of a small group.
